What We Do

Velody Trade’s team of global trade management professionals has comprehensive experience in sourcing, logistics, supply chain management, tariff engineering, customs compliance and trade finance. We’ve worked with some of the world’s most successful apparel, footwear and manufacturing businesses to help them streamline operations, increase profits and reduce risk.

Whether it involves optimizing all aspects of your supply chain, determining customs compliance risks or helping you recapture eligible duty refunds, our industry experts can help you identify issues before they become critical problems. In short, we help you translate global import and export challenges into opportunities.

No matter the size or duration of the project, you’ll work with senior-level international trade experts on a variable cost basis. You’ll feel as if our team members are part of your organization, and you’ll understand why we truly believe your success is our success.

How We Do It

Velody Trade starts by analyzing the overall efficiency and effectiveness of small- to mid-size companies’ business processes, supply chain and compliance programs in order to identify opportunities for cost savings and risk reductions.

Then, we determine and prioritize the changes that need to occur, re-engineer existing business processes and implement best practices in collaboration with our industry-leading strategic partners. As an extension of your internal team, we develop and educate your staff so they can then integrate the new, optimized business processes on their own.

Velody Trade offers a unique managed service program that ensures the plan we’ve developed gets full traction and the best possible bottom-line benefit. This means our team is available to manage trade partner relationships for you while we help you determine the best long-term solution. For some clients, the best long-term solution might mean helping develop your internal knowledge base. For others, it may involve defining the resources necessary for you to handle these responsibilities in-house.

Either way, Velody Trade’s managed service program enables companies to utilize senior-level expertise to more effectively manage global trade partners on a variable-cost, month-to-month basis.

Duty Drawback

Duty Drawback is a refund of 99% of the duties paid on goods imported into the United States that are subsequently exported unused or destroyed. The drawback claimant can either be the importer, manufacturer or exporter, provided the proper authorization and documentation is filed with the U.S. Customs and Border Protection.

According to government reports, 75% of all eligible companies do not file their drawback claim. That leaves an estimated $2 billion in unclaimed Duty Drawback refunds each year. Many companies are not aware of their right to a duty refund. We can help you determine what you may leave unclaimed.

As part of the duty drawback service, we will assess your import, manufacturing and/or export process to identify and retrieve the necessary documents and reports to file your claim in compliance with all U.S. laws and regulations.
